Ashley's Word Explosion

Ever since Ashley began to walk several months ago...she has begun to pick up words at an alarming rate! She'll bring me her shoes and say "shoe". She'll put together words she knows to form small sentences. When we ask who wants to say the prayer she raises her hand and says "I do". She loves to express her own ideas. She was in the bath tub this afternoon and tried to drink the bath water. Wade said it was "yucky" and Ashley said "no, mmmmmmnnnummmm" which means yummy. She asks for cheese, hot dogs, crackers, apple juice, and so many more things. She even has her favorite food and toy and thing to do. She loves to hold her arms out and say "dance" and she knows the word "sing". Where is my baby going? Tommy seems so old too! They are so cute together and Ashley constantly asks for her buba...which is to ask for Tommy. I can see how much they love each other. Tommy is such a great help for Ashley and Ashley makes Tommy smile. Aaahhhh, so cute.

Outside

We have been enjoying the outdoors lately. Tommy and Ashley love to be outside. We went to Wade's parents property the other day. Tommy loved to soak his feet in the ice cold stream and also throw rocks into the same water. Ashley was bound and determined to get into the stream any way she could and had to be caught more than several times as she barrelled toward the water, unafraid. We've been able to go outside more than once in the last week or so. They had so much fun at the park the other day, walking around, and enjoying a picnic. Ashley pointed out all the babies and Tommy enjoyed the swings. Wade always jokes about forming a nature commune and making rope sandals...I'm sure both Tommy and Ashley would be on board with the idea. It's too bad they have a mom that loves electricity too much to live in the forest among the woodland creatures. Sorry guys....we'll just have to settle for picnics and camping.
